1 lb ground sirloin
1/2 c canned pumpkin
2 t taco seasoning
1/2 t black pepper
1 T olive oil, divided
6 hamburger buns
3/4 c salsa
1 1/2 c shredded lettuce (or any green you like for tacos or burgers)
Cheese (optional)
Combine first 4 ingredients in a bowl. Portion
into 6 patties, 3/4" thick. Heat large nonstick skillet over medium high
heat, add 1 1/2 t oil to pan and spread to coat. Add 3 patties when pan
is hot enough (a flick of water should sizzle) cover and cook 3-5 min
per side or until done. Remove done patties and set aside keeping them
warm while you cook the last set. Repeat procedure with rest of oil and
remaining patties. Bun the burgers, top with 2 T salsa, lettuce, cheese
or any other condiments to taste. I haven't tried these on a foreman
grill, but the consistency of meat mixture is a bit different than
regular burgers, it's definitely worth a shot though.
